Bergen County Prosecutor's Office The rise of the Internet, while facilitating new and better ways of communicating and conducting business, also has a downside. Criminals, no matter where they are in the world, can now easily enter the territorial jurisdiction of Bergen County and commit crimes - all with no more than the click of a mouse. Tracking these criminals and prosecuting them has become one of my top priorities. In order to conduct these types of investigations, I have created within the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office a Computer Crimes Unit. This group is composed of detectives highly skilled in both computer crimes and forensic investigations. In addition, the unit also includes the Bergen County Computer Crimes Task Force. This task force is made up of several Bergen County municipal law enforcement officers who volunteer their computer and forensic skills to the unit. Together, the Computer Crimes Unit investigates and prosecutes computer-facilitated crimes committed in Bergen County and provides technological and legal support to other agencies involved in investigating computer-related crimes. Of course, if you have questions or concerns about anything you read at this site, please feel free to contact my office for assistance. Together we can make the Internet safe for our children and ourselves. |
