          Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli announced the arrest of Jeenesh Shah, d.o.b. 08/10/1984, of Eagle Rock Village, Bldg. 31, Apt. 8A, Budd Lake, New Jersey, on charges of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Criminal Sexual Contact and Attempted Sexual Assault. Shah was arrested on Wednesday, May 10, 2006. The arrest came about as a result of an investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit, under the direction of Chief Michael Mordaga.

          The arrest stemmed from an investigation in which Jeenesh Shah engaged in conversation via the Internet, specifically chat and instant messaging, with what he believed was a 13-year-old girl. During the course of those conversations, Jeenesh Shah initiated sexually explicit dialogue. Additionally, Jeenesh Shah masturbated while transmitting the image via web camera to what he believed to be a 13-year-old girl and instructed the girl to perform sexual acts.

          Prosecutor Molinelli urges anyone whose child spoke online with the screen name “jeenesh_shah36100" To contact the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit. Prosecutor Molinelli states that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Additionally, Prosecutor Molinelli would like to thank the Mount Olive Police Department under the direction of Chief Edward Katona for their help with the arrest.
