For Immediate Release: September 27, 2021 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of YAUHENI E. LIAKHNOVICH (DOB: 09/01/1994; single; unemployed) of 1309 River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ on charges of aggravated arson and criminal mischief. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love, the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office under the direction of Sheriff Anthony Cureton, and the Fair Lawn Police Department under the direction of Chief Glen Cauwels. At approximately 1:01 a.m. on September 11, 2021, the Fair Lawn Police Department responded to the report of a fire in the rear of the B&B deli located at 12-17 River Road in Fair Lawn. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Hackensack Police Department under the direction of Officer In Charge Captain Darren DeWitt. On Friday, September 24, 2021, the Hackensack Police Department received information that EDISSON SAUL GUARTAZACA-ALI engaged in sexual conduct with a child under the age of 13 in Hackensack. B, New Milford, NJ on sexual assault and other assault charges.  The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the New Milford Police Department under the direction of Chief Brian Clancy. On Wednesday, September 22, 2021, the New Milford Police reported to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office that they received information that MATTHEW HARRIES sexually and physically assaulted a woman with whom he was familiar.  An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the New Milford Police Department revealed that HARRIES held the woman against her will then physically and sexually assaulted her.  He also threatened to kill her, but she was able to escape from…

Sep 24 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced that BRYAN WOOD (DOB: 07/09/1986; single; self-employed) of 1603 Maple Street, Fort Lee, NJ, was charged with strict liability vehicular homicide.  The charge is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office under the direction of Sheriff Anthony Cureton. On Saturday, May 22, 2021, at approximately 3:40 a.m., the Lodi Police Department and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office were notified that a motor vehicle had struck a person in the area of 240 Route 17 South in Lodi.  The victim, later identified as 38-year-old Marko Guberovic of Fair Lawn, was pronounced dead at the scene.  The Sheriff’s Office contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Accident Investigation Unit, and the ensuing investigation revealed that a 2020 BMW M8 operated by BRYAN WOOD…

Sep 24 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of AMJAD MASHAL (DOB: 7/04/1992; single; self-employed) of 9 Tammy Terrace, Wayne, NJ, on bribery and CDS possession charges.  The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love. In March 2021, AMJAD MASHAL was kidnapped by several individuals who were charged with kidnapping, weapons offenses, and other related charges in April 2021.  An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Squad revealed that MASHAL thereafter communicated with a family member of one of the kidnapping defendants who bribed MASHAL with approximately $100,000 in consideration for submitting a new sworn statement to the Court which would result in one of the defendants being released from jail on the kidnapping charges.  On Wednesday, September 22, 2021, detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office,…

On Tuesday, September 21, 2021, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of JOHN A. BELL during a months-long Internet child pornography investigation.  The investigation revealed that BELL used the Internet to view, download, or possess more than 1,000 digital files depicting nude and/or sexually explicit prepubescent children, as well as share digital files via the Internet depicting nude and/or sexually explicit pubescent and prepubescent children.  The investigation…
