Sep 17 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announces the following information: The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the North Arlington Police Department are investigating a fatal house fire at 1 Ninth Street in North Arlington, NJ. At 4:16 a.m. on Friday, September 17, 2021, the North Arlington Police Department received a report of a house fire from one of the occupants of a single-family home at 1 Ninth Street. Two individuals were located in the residence and were pronounced deceased at the scene. Another individual was located in the residence and transported to a local hospital. The victims have been identified as 75-year-old Safwat Saad and 44-year-old Maged Saad. An investigation to determine the cause of the fire is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the North Arlington Police Department under the direction…

Sep 17 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of CHRISTINE E. KNUDSEN (DOB: 11/17/1976; separated; high school teacher) of 18 A Townley Road, Fair Lawn, NJ.  The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Fair Lawn Police Department under the direction of Chief Glen Cauwels.  On Wednesday, September 14, 2021, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit was notified by the Institutional Abuse Investigation Unit of the New Jersey Department of Children and Family that they received information that CHRISTINE E. Sep 16 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of ANDREW FREEDMAN (DOB: 04/18/1969; divorced; unemployed) of 1265 15th Street, Apartment 8C, Fort Lee, NJ, on charges of possession and distribution of child pornography.  The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love. On Thursday, September 16, 2021, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of ANDREW FREEDMAN during a months-long Internet child pornography investigation.  The investigation revealed that FREEDMAN used the Internet to view, download, possess and distribute multiple digital files depicting nude and/or sexually explicit prepubescent children.       As a result of the investigation, FREEDMAN was arrested on Thursday, September 16, 2021, in Paramus, NJ and charged with one count of second-degree distribution of child pornography, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4(b)5(a)i; and one…

MERCEDES CEDENO (DOB: 8/21/1984; single; mechanic) of 7840 Rebel Walk Drive, Manassas, VA on drug and firearm related offenses. These arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love. On September 8, 2021, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force conducted a motor vehicle stop on a white Nissan Murano as it was traveling on Interstate 95 North in the area of Leonia, NJ. A search of the vehicle revealed an aftermarket electronic hidden compartment located in the center console. For Immediate Release: September 5, 2021 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announces that a ceremony dedicating a room in the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Child Advocacy Center in honor of Rosemarie D’Alessandro for her lifelong advocacy on behalf of child victims and in memory of her daughter, Joan D’Alessandro, will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office located at 100 Eisenhower Drive in Paramus. Members of the news media are invited to cover the ceremony. The ceremony is planned as an outdoor event but in the event of inclement weather, the dedication will be held inside, and masks will be required.
