Prosecutor Mark Musella announces the following information: The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Hackensack Police Department are investigating a fatal accident that occurred on Essex Street in Hackensack, NJ on Friday, July 29, 2022 at approximately 3:52 p.m. Responding officers transported one of the motorists to Hackensack University Medical Center where he died as a result of his injuries.     An investigation is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Hackensack Police Department under the direction of Officer in Charge Darren DeWitt. For Immediate Release:July 28, 2022Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of ANDY PENA (DOB: 2/04/1981; single; truck driver) of 4 Ferndale Court, Lodi, NJ on charges of arson, aggravated arson, possession of a weapon and attempt to cause widespread injury or damage. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love, and the Lodi Police Department under the direction of Chief Donald Scorzetti. On Monday, July 19, 2022, the Lodi Police Department received information from a local establishment regarding suspicious fire damage on their exterior roof. First responders arrived on scene and observed approximately three large, burned areas on the roof along with several broken glass bottles. SOH (DOB: 3/25/1996; single; student) of 32 Brodil Court, Closter, NJ on charges of distribution and possession of child pornography. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love. On Friday, July 22, 2022, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of JOHN S. SOH during the course of a months-long Internet child pornography investigation. The investigation revealed that SOH used the Internet to view, download, possess, and distribute items depicting nude and/or sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Dumont Police Department under the direction of Chief Brian Joyce. At 11:53 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2022, the Dumont Police Department received a 911 call from a male stating that he had attacked his mother with a fire poker. Prosecutor Mark Musella announces the following information: The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Dumont Police Department are investigating a homicide that occurred at 124 New Milford Avenue, Dumont, NJ on Saturday, July 23, 2022. At approximately 11:53 p.m., the Dumont Police Department responded to that address in response to a 911 call reporting a 79-year-old female had been struck with a fire poker by a 40-year-old male. Responding officers transported the victim to Hackensack University Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased, and the 30-year-old male was taken into custody.     An investigation is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Dumont Police Department under the direction of Chief Brian Joyce. On Tuesday, May 17, 2022, the Old Tappan Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a child. Claremont Avenue, Chicago, Illinois on a drug offense. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love. On July 19, 2022, an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force revealed that TENZIN KALSANG was transporting bulk shipments of marijuana through Bergen County. During this investigation, a search was conducted on his vehicle in Ridgefield, NJ, which revealed approximately thirty packages of marijuana with a total weight of 30 pounds. KALSANG was arrested at the scene of the search. TENZIN KALSANG was charged with first-degree possession of marijuana over 25 lbs. with the intent to distribute, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(10)a. The arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love, and the Palisades Park Police Department under the direction of Officer In-Charge Captain Anthony Espino. On Monday July 4, 2022 at approximately 5:49 pm, the Palisades Park Police Department received a 9-1-1 from a passerby who relayed a smoke/fire condition at 20 Fairview Street, Palisades Park, NJ. First responders arrived on scene and began fire suppression activity which lasted approximately six hours in order to place the fire under control.
