For Immediate Release:August 31, 2022Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of WILLIAM AREVALO (6/09/1989; single; self-employed) of 190 River Road, Edgewater, NJ on charges of possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love. On August 30, 2022, following an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force, a search warrant was executed at WILLIAM AREVALO’s residence. AREVALO was found to be in possession of over five pounds of marijuana and hashish oils, and he was placed under arrest without incident. WILLIAM AREVALO was charged with first-degree possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, namely hashish oils, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5(b)(10)(a); and second-degree possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, namely marijuana; N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5(b)(10)(b). For Immediate Release:August 30, 2022Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announces that the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office will partner with Alumni in Recovery and the Black Poster Project on an Overdose Awareness Day event on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the Hackensack Courthouse Green on Court and Main Streets in Hackensack. The event will begin at noon with remarks by Prosecutor Musella; County Executive James Tedesco; Sheriff Anthony Cureton; Alumni in Recovery founder/CEO Nancy Labov; Dee Gillen, creator of the Black Poster Project; and Alex Roth, the Bergen County Director of the New Jersey Reentry Corporation. The posters will be displayed from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Black Poster Project is an addiction and overdose awareness group that travels throughout New Jersey and New York presenting a display called “Silent Memorials,” a series of posters featuring the faces of lives lost to addiction. SHELLEY (DOB: 02/27/1973; divorced; unemployed) of Wood Ridge, NJ on aggravated criminal sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child charges. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Wood-Ridge Police Department under the direction of Chief Michael O’Donnell. On Tuesday, August 16, 2022, the Wood-Ridge Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a child. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Wood-Ridge Police Department revealed that STEVE R. SHELLEY sexually assaulted a child who was between the ages of 13 and 16 on multiple occasions in Wood-Ridge, NJ. As a result of the investigation, on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, STEVE R. HIDALGO (DOB: 11/06/1998; single; unemployed) of 15026 Timberlea Dr, Missouri City, TX, and ANTONIO A. MORENO (DOB: 04/07/1999; single; unemployed) of 5010 Grove West Boulevard, Stafford, TX, on money laundering and unlawful weapons possession charges.  The arrests are the result of an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.  On August 25, 2022, during a motor vehicle stop in Ridgefield, NJ, detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force searched a vehicle occupied by FRANCIS E. HIDALGO and ANTONIO A. MORENO and found $15,200 and two .9mm handguns, one of which contained hollow nose bullets.  Further investigation revealed that HIDALGO and MORENO had been paid for transporting two undocumented immigrants from Texas to New York and were to deliver the cash to an individual…

For Immediate Release: August 29, 2022 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of DWAYNE KEVIN SHARLOW (DOB: 10/15/1966; single; unemployed) of 5500 Crestwood Drive, Prosper, TX on a charge of being a fugitive from justice.  The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love. On August 26, 2022, detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force conducted a traffic stop at the entrance to the George Washington Bridge on a vehicle driven by DWAYNE KEVIN SHARLOW after learning that SHARLOW, a wanted fugitive who was considered armed and dangerous, was traveling through Bergen County on Interstate 95. DWAYNE KEVIN SHARLOW was charged with being a fugitive from justice, N.J.S.A. 2A:160-10.  He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending an extradition hearing. For Immediate Release: August 22, 2022       Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrests of EDOMAR TRONCOSO (DOB: 10/05/1993; married; self-employed) of 1686 Grand Concourse, Bronx, New York; HANSER HERNANDEZ-SOTO (DOB: 07/03/1997; single; self-employed) of 1361 Clay Avenue, Bronx, New York; and JEFRI DOMINGUEZ (DOB: 03/10/1987; single; self-employed) of 31 W. Tremont Avenue, Bronx, New York on charges of possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance and conspiracy.  The arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love. On August 18, 2022, during a motor vehicle stop in Teaneck, NJ, detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force searched two vehicles and located three kilograms of suspected fentanyl.  The investigation revealed that EDOMAR TRONCOSO, HANSER HERNANDEZ-SOTO, AND JEFRI DOMINGUEZ were transporting kilograms of suspected fentanyl packaged for sale through Bergen County.  All three individuals…

For Immediate Release: August 18, 2022   Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of OSTIN REYES-MEJIA (DOB: 06/25/1985; married; waiter) of 146 Liberty Road, Englewood, NJ on a charge of distribution of cocaine.  The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Englewood Police Department under the direction of Chief Thomas Greeley.  During a two-month investigation, OSTIN REYES-MEJIA distributed cocaine to an undercover detective on multiple occasions.  On August 16, 2022, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force, Englewood Police Department, and Bergen County Regional SWAT Team arrested OSTIN REYES-MEJIA as he exited his residence. On August 16, 2022, OSTIN REYES-MEJIA was charged with second-degree distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, specifically cocaine, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(2).  He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court…

For Immediate Release: August 15, 2022       Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of LI FAN FENG (DOB: 01/13/2002; single; unemployed) of 13418 Blossom Ave, Flushing, NY on a charge of possession with intent to distribute more than 400 pounds of marijuana.  The arrest is the result of an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love. On August 11, 2022, an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force revealed that LI FAN FENG was transporting bulk marijuana which was packaged for sale through Bergen County.  During the investigation, a search of his vehicle in Ridgefield, NJ yielded approximately 420 pounds of suspected marijuana.  On the same day, FENG was arrested without incident. LI FAN FENG was charged with first-degree possession with intent to distribute marijuana, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(10)(a).   He appeared in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ on…

For Immediate Release:August 12, 2022Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrests of ELIJAH BATTLE (DOB: 1/20/1997; single; unemployed) of Paterson, NJ and ANTHONY AGUILAR (DOB: 6/07/1998; single; currently incarcerated in the Bergen County Jail) on carjacking related charges. The arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Squad under the direction of Chief Jason Love, the Rochelle Park Police Department under the direction of Chief Dean Pinto, and the Maywood Police Department under the direction of Chief Terence Kenny. During a two-month-long investigation by members of these agencies, ELIJAH BATTLE and ANTHONY AGUILAR were identified as suspects in an armed carjacking which occurred in Rochelle Park on June 16, 2022, as well as a motor vehicle burglary which took place in Maywood on that same date.
