For Immediate Release: July 28, 2023 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the conviction of SUI KAM “TONY” TUNG of New York City, NY, for the murder of Robert Cantor in Teaneck, NJ on March 6, 2011. On July 27, 2023, following an 8-week jury trial before the Honorable Christopher Kazlau, J.S.C., in Bergen County Superior Court, TUNG was convicted of murder, aggravated arson, desecration of human remains, hindering apprehension, tampering with evidence, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, and stalking. A jury convicted TONY TUNG of murdering and executing Robert Cantor, the boyfriend of defendant’s soon-to-be ex-wife, at his home in Teaneck, NJ. For Immediate Release: July 28, 2023 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of HUMBERTO DUENAS (DOB: 4/20/1962; married; trucking industry) of Ridgefield Park, NJ on charges of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Ridgefield Park Police Department under the direction of Chief Joseph Rella. On Tuesday, July 11, 2023, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit received information regarding an alleged sexual assault of a victim under the age of thirteen on various occasions in Ridgefield Park, NJ. For Immediate Release: July 28, 2023 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of JOSE SANTOS (DOB: 11/19/1977; married; laborer) of 5 Gilbert Avenue, Paramus, NJ. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Paramus Police Department under the direction of Chief Robert Guidetti. On Sunday, July 23, 2023, at approximately 12:58 a.m., the Paramus Police Department responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on Farview Avenue between the intersections of Hemlock Drive and Hasse Avenue. Responding officers found a 2021 Mercedes Benz operated by JOSE SANTOS that struck a 2015 Yamaha motorcycle operated by 28-year-old Cody Cleary of Paramus, NJ. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Elmwood Park Police Department under the direction of Chief Michael Foligno. On Tuesday, July 25, 2023, the Elmwood Park Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a child. Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announces the following information: The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit is investigating a crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle that occurred on Farview Avenue in Paramus, NJ on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at approximately 12:58 a.m. The motorcyclist involved in this crash sustained serious bodily injuries and was transported to an area hospital.  The investigation is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Paramus Park Police Department under the direction of Chief Robert Guidetti. No additional information is available at this time.

For Immediate Release: July 24, 2023 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrests of WESLEY CORDOVA (DOB: 10/08/1978); single; unemployed) of 947 Alpine Drive, Teaneck, NJ and WILLIAM VARGAS (DOB: 10/08/1978; single; unemployed) of 8639 102nd Street, Ozone Park, NY on narcotics and money laundering offenses. The arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love. On July 21, 2023, an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force revealed that WESLEY CORDOVA and WILLIAM VARGAS were involved in the transportation of narcotics and bulk U.S. currency derived from criminal activity through Bergen County. During the investigation, a search was conducted on a vehicle operated by VARGAS in Fort Lee, NJ. That search resulted in the seizure of heroin and fentanyl from an electronically operated aftermarket hidden compartment. A motor vehicle stop was also conducted…

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announces the following information: The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Woodcliff Lake Police Department are investigating an apparent drowning death that occurred at a private residence on Heidi Lane in Woodcliff Lake on Friday, July 21, 2023. At approximately 5:05 p.m., the Woodcliff Lake Police Department responded to a 911 call regarding a possible drowning of a four-year-old child. The child was transported to Valley Hospital and ultimately pronounced deceased. An investigation is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Woodcliff Lake Police Department under the direction of Officer-in-Charge Deputy Chief Steven Regula. For Immediate Release: July 18, 2023 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announces the following information regarding a shooting investigation in Hackensack, NJ. On Saturday, July 15, 2023 at approximately 8:51 a.m., the Hackensack Police Department responded to a 911 call from CareOne at Wellington, located at 301 Union Street, Hackensack, NJ. Responding officers found 72-year-old Patricia Zaccario and 75-year-old Michael Zaccario (both of 158 Palmer Terrace, Wood-Ridge, NJ) deceased with apparent gunshot wounds. An investigation was then conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Hackensack Police Department under the direction of Officer-in-Charge Captain Michael Antista. The investigation revealed that Michael Zaccario fatally shot his wife, Patricia Zaccario, before succumbing to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Prosecutor Musella would like to thank the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office and the Hackensack Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
