For Immediate Release: January 31, 2024 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrests of RAYMOND SYLVESTER (DOB: 3/14/1968; single; physical therapist) of Bergenfield, NJ and LESHAWNDA NIXON (DOB: 12/27/1990; single; unemployed) of Brooklyn, NY on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. The arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Bergenfield Police Department under the direction of Chief Mustafa Rabboh. On Monday, January 29, 2024, the Bergenfield Police Department received a 911 call regarding an infant experiencing a medical episode. The child was subsequently transported to an area hospital where further testing revealed that the child had ingested a controlled dangerous substance, namely cocaine. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love. On Monday, January 29, 2024, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of SARJU PATEL during a stalking investigation. For Immediate Release: January 26, 2024 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of a Bergen County juvenile on charges of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in serious bodily injury, endangering an injured victim, and assault by auto resulting in serious bodily injury. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Teaneck Police Department under the direction of Chief Andrew McGurr. On Thursday, January 25, 2024, at approximately 7:55 a.m., the Teaneck Police Department received a 9-1-1 call reporting a two-car motor vehicle crash that occurred at the intersection of Palmer Ave and Sherman Ave in Teaneck, NJ. Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announces the following information: The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Teaneck Police Department are investigating a motor vehicle accident involving serious bodily injury at the intersection of Sherman Avenue and Palmer Avenue in Teaneck, New Jersey. The victim was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center (Hackensack, N.J.) with life threatening injuries. An investigation is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Teaneck Police Department under the direction of Chief Andrew McGurr. For Immediate Release: January 25, 2024 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of NICHOLAS L. TODARO (DOB: 8/10/1987; single; unemployed) of Orangeburg, NY on arson charges. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit under the direction of Chief Jason Love, and the Ramsey Police Department under the direction of Chief Brian Lyman. On January 5, 2024 at approximately 6:36 p.m., the Ramsey Police Department responded to a fire in a wooded area behind a shopping center located at 50 Spring Street in Ramsey, NJ. Approximately 20 minutes later, there was a report of a second fire, in a wooded area behind 8 Interstate Shopping Center in Ramsey. Both fires were extinguished by the Ramsey Fire Department.
