The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Cliffside Park Police Department under the direction of Chief Marc Marano. On Tuesday, October 24, 2023, the Division of Child Protection and Permanency contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a juvenile. In February 2020, detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Financial Crimes Unit began receiving complaints pertaining to CHANDER SINGH, Esq., and his company, SC Capital Investors LLC, from multiple investors who stated that they were owed money from multiple real estate transactions. The investigation revealed that SINGH and his company, SC Capital Investors LLC, a distressed real estate renovation company, perpetrated a Ponzi-like scheme in which SINGH promised investors double digit returns. On Thursday, May 4, 2023, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of the Juvenile during an Internet child pornography investigation. The investigation revealed that the Juvenile used the Internet to view, save, download, possess, and distribute digital files depicting nude and/or sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children. On April 28, 2023, an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force revealed that ERIK A. CRUZ was transporting bulk shipments of narcotics through Bergen County. On December 12, 2018, TALEK LAWSON and co-defendants ZACHARY ANDERSON, JUSTIN DULA, and COREY MCKAY were at a bar in Bogota, NJ along with the victim, Dakota Johnson. After an altercation at the bar, LAWSON shot Dakota Johnson in the chest, killing him. A trial began in March 2020, but the Court declared a mistrial due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On June 29, 2019, DAVID MARTINEZ and four co-conspirators planned to commit an armed robbery against David Duque Soto. At approximately 6:40 p.m. that evening, three of the co-conspirators entered Duque Soto’s apartment to commit the robbery, while DAVID MARTINEZ waited in the get-a-way vehicle.
