The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office joins the County of Bergen and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office to launch the “Bergen Beeps” initiative. In response to an alarming spike in vehicle thefts, this county-wide program encourages car owners to take preventative steps to safeguard the security of their vehicles.

The number of stolen cars in Bergen County during the first 5 months of the year increased 85% over the same period last year. The #BergenBeeps campaign is focused on raising awareness of this issue and reminding Bergen County residents that we all need to lock our cars, remove our key fobs and keep valuables out of sight.
