BERGENFIELD, NJ MAN CHARGED WITH SEXUAL ASSAULT AND ENDANGERING THE WELFARE OF A CHILD

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of JULIO VALENCIA (DOB: 06/19/1970; single; construction) of Bergenfield, NJ, on charges of sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Bergenfield Police Department under the direction of Chief Mustafa Rabboh.
On Tuesday, March 14, 2023, the Bergenfield Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a child. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Bergenfield Police Department revealed that JULIO VALENCIA sexually assaulted a child under the age of 13 years old in Bergenfield, NJ on more than one occasion.
As a result of the investigation, on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, JULIO VALENCIA was arrested in Paramus, NJ and charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault by sexual contact, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2b; and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1). VALENCIA was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and he would also like to thank the Bergenfield Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
