“New Training Requirement for Issuance of Firearms Purchaser ID Cards and Handgun Purchase Permits; Changes to Requirements for Permits to Carry Handguns” This directive provides an update of a training requirement for firearms purchaser ID card applicants.
“Procedures for Requesting Geofence Warrants” This directive sets forth the procedures for requesting and approving Geofence Warrants.
“Preservation of Domestic Violence Telephonic Search Warrant Evidence” This directive requires law enforcement to preserve the recordings of all applications for a temporary restraining order in which administrative search warrants are issued.
“Additional Requirements to the Attorney General’s Body Worn Camera Policy” This directive reaffirms that each county law enforcement agency must follow the Attorney General’s Body Worn Camera Policy and follow additional requirements included in the directive.
“Public Disclosure of the Identities of Officers Who Commit Serious Disciplinary Violations and Revised Internal Affairs Policy and Procedures” This directive provides additional direction regarding the public disclosure of the identities of officers who commit serious disciplinary violations.
“Implementing Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Law Enforcement Directive No.2020-14 on Regional Mutual Aid Protocol” This directive implements Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Law Enforcement Directive No. 2020-14 which outlines a Bergen County Regional Mutual Aid Protocol.
“Investigation of Police Involved Deaths/Serious Bodily Injury and In-Custody Deaths” This directive mandates that all law enforcement agencies must immediately contact the BCPO regarding police encounters that result in death or serious bodily injury that could result in death, whether during use of force or accidental. This also includes in-custody deaths.
“Establishing Procedures for Juvenile Diversion and Complaint Approval” This directive focuses on specific juvenile diversion and charging procedures as provided in Attorney General Directive No. 2020-12.
“Implementation of Regional Mutual Aid Protocol” This directive addresses the need for a regional mutual aid protocol among Bergen County law enforcement agencies.
