Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announces the following information: The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Teaneck Police Department are investigating a homicide that occurred on Hickory Street in Teaneck, NJ on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at approximately 8:25 a.m. The initial investigation has so far revealed that a 26-year-old female was shot at a private residence. The victim was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased. Detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit are on scene with members of the Teaneck Police Department, alongside officers from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department and a mutual aid response provided by the Bogota Police Department. At this time, there is no ongoing danger to the community.
