For Immediate Release: May 25, 2024 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of 34 year-old DAWID S. IWASZEK of Englewood, NJ on charges of criminal sexual assault by sexual contact, endangering the welfare of a child, and lewdness. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck and the Englewood Police Department under the direction of Chief Thomas Greeley. On Thursday, May 23, 2024, the Englewood Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding an alleged incident of criminal sexual assault by sexual contact against a juvenile under the age of thirteen. For Immediate Release: May 28, 2024 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of 45-year-old KATHERINE PASTOR of Teaneck, NJ on charges of endangering the welfare of a child, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, and simple assault. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck and the Teaneck Police Department under the direction of Chief Andrew McGurr. On Friday, May 24, 2024, the Teaneck Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding an alleged incident of child abuse. The alleged child abuse was reported to have occurred while a juvenile was under the care of KATHERINE PASTOR. For Immediate Release: May 26, 2024 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of 48-year-old FRANCES CASO of Fort Lee, NJ on charges of endangering the welfare of a child, possession of controlled dangerous substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrest was the result of an investigation in connection to the death of a 12-year-old child that was conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck and the Fort Lee Police Department under the direction of Chief Matthew Hintze. As previously reported, on Saturday, May 25, 2024, the Fort Lee Police Department responded to a 911 call at approximately 3:34 p.m. reporting an unresponsive 12-year-old female at a private residence on Maple Street in Fort Lee, NJ. Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announces the following information: This evening, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Fort Lee Police Department are conducting a death investigation at a private residence on Maple Street.  First responders who were answering a 911 call at approximately 3:34 p.m. located and transported an unresponsive 12-year-old child to an area hospital.  The child was pronounced deceased.   This ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck and the Fort Lee Police Department under the direction of Chief Matthew Hintze. No other information is available tonight while the investigation is underway.  More details will be released when possible.

For Immediate Release: May 24, 2024 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of TODD V. GENTILE, 55, of 96 Truman Boulevard, Oakland, NJ, on the charge of terroristic threats. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck.On Wednesday, April 3, 2024, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit initiated an investigation regarding an emerging pattern of social media posts threatening to shoot law enforcement officers. In the subsequent weeks, detectives traced the social media posts to TODD GENTILE. As a result of the investigation, on Thursday, May 23, 2024, TODD GENTILE, who was already in custody at the Bergen County Jail on an unrelated matter, was charged with third-degree terroristic threats, N.J.S.A. 2C:12-3a. As previously reported, on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at approximately 7:34 p.m., the Glen Rock Police Department responded to a disturbance at Wilde Memorial Park where a large crowd was gathered playing basketball on the outdoor basketball courts. On Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at approximately 7:34 p.m. the Glen Rock Police Department responded to a disturbance at Wilde Memorial Park where a large crowd was gathered playing basketball on the outdoor basketball courts. One adult male was shot and is currently being treated at an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. For Immediate Release: May 21, 2024 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the identification of human remains discovered in Overpeck Creek in Ridgefield Park, NJ. The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit in coordination with the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department, Ridgefield Park Police Department, Maywood Police Department, and with assistance from the Bergen County Office of Emergency Management, Bergen County Regional Dive Team, and the New Jersey State Police began an investigation into artifacts recovered from Overpeck Creek in Ridgefield Park, NJ earlier this month. Indicators of submerged artifacts were originally detected by a private, non-profit dive company, which notified law enforcement of its discovery. In a joint operation that was undertaken on Friday, May 3, 2024, county divers successfully confirmed the presence of submerged artifacts, which appeared to be approximately 40 years old. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck and Lodi Police Department under the direction of Police Chief Donald Scorzetti. On Saturday, April 6, 2024, at approximately 4:14 p.m., the Lodi Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting an adult male who was unresponsive in the bedroom of a private residence. HENDLEY, 23, of Clifton, NJ on charges of armed robbery, kidnapping and other related offenses. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck and the Allendale Police Department under the direction of Chief Michael Dillon. On Monday, March 25, 2024, at approximately 3:48 p.m., the Allendale Police Department responded to a reported dispute at an apartment complex. Upon arrival, officers discovered that an armed robbery occurred and the assailant fled the scene. The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Squad was notified, responded, and initiated a joint investigation with the Allendale Police Department into the incident.
