For Immediate Release: November 21, 2025 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announces the following information related to a death investigation at the Tenafly Nature Center that began on Thursday, November 20, 2025. This investigation is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck, and the Tenafly Police Department, under the direction of Chief Robert Chamberlain. On Thursday, November 20, 2025, at approximately 2 p.m., a hiker observed the body of a deceased male at the Tenafly Nature Center and called police. Upon arrival, officers from the Tenafly Police Department located the deceased male in a wooded area within the Nature Center and notified the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit. Detectives from the Prosecutor’s Office responded to the scene and initiated a joint investigation. MAURER of Garfield, NJ, on the charge of possession of child sexual abuse material. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck. On Thursday, November 20, 2025, the Garfield Police Department notified the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit of a resident from their jurisdiction who may be in possession of child sexual abuse material. Members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit initiated an Internet child sexual abuse material investigation, which included a subsequent court-authorized search of ANDREW G. MAURER’s residence in Garfield, NJ. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck, and the Englewood Police Department, under the direction of Chief Thomas Greeley. On Monday, November 17, 2025, the Englewood Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding an alleged sexual assault of a juvenile that had occurred in Englewood, NJ. ADEOSUN of Dunwoody, GA, in connection with a money laundering investigation. This arrest is the result of a lengthy investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck. In July 2024, the Palisades Park Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Financial Crimes Unit regarding a fraudulent money wire that resulted in a $982,148.28 loss to an area business. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Financial Crimes Unit, which spanned nearly 15 months, revealed that the stolen funds were moved across multiple financial accounts and into multiple cryptocurrency exchanges. Detectives determined that OLANREWAJU B. PALACIO, both of Moonachie, NJ, on charges stemming from a falsely reported home invasion and shooting. For Immediate Release: October 24, 2025 Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the sentencing term handed down in Bergen County Superior Court on Monday, October 20, 2025, against 32-year-old JUHAAN HAMMOND of Garfield, NJ in connection with charges filed during a 2023 strict liability drug overdose death investigation. On Sunday, September 17, 2023, the Garfield Police Department responded to the drug overdose of two victims. Arriving officers initiated life-saving measures, including the administration of Naloxone. The victims were subsequently transported to an area hospital for treatment whereupon one of the victims, a 30-year-old Garfield man, was pronounced deceased.
