Press Releases << CHICAGO, IL MAN CHARGED WITH DRUG POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE FOLLOWING INVESTIGATION IN RIDGEFIELD

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of TENZIN KALSANG (DOB: 6/24/1988; single; unemployed) of 7505 N. Claremont Avenue, Chicago, Illinois on a drug offense. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.

On July 19, 2022, an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force revealed that TENZIN KALSANG was transporting bulk shipments of marijuana through Bergen County. During this investigation, a search was conducted on his vehicle in Ridgefield, NJ, which revealed approximately thirty packages of marijuana with a total weight of 30 pounds. KALSANG was arrested at the scene of the search.

TENZIN KALSANG was charged with first-degree possession of marijuana over 25 lbs. with the intent to distribute, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(10)a. He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.


Prosecutor Mark Musella states that the charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
