Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of 49-year-old DANIEL E. LAUTURE of Cliffside Park, NJ, on charges of sexual assault by contact and endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck and the Cliffside Park Police Department under the direction of Chief Marc Marano.

On Friday, September 20, 2024, the Cliffside Park Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding alleged abuse of a child. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Cliffside Park Police Department revealed that DANIEL E. LAUTURE engaged in sexual conduct with a child under the age of 13 in Cliffside Park, NJ.

As a result of the investigation, on Friday, September 20, 2024, DANIEL E. LAUTURE was arrested in Cliffside Park, NJ, and charged with second-degree sexual assault by sexual contact, N.J.S.A 2C:14-2B, and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4A(1). LAUTURE was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack,NJ.

Prosecutor Musella states that these charges are merely accusations, and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He would like to thank the Cliffside Park Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
