CLIFTON, NJ MAN CHARGED WITH SEXUAL ASSAULT, ENDANGERING THE WELFARE OF A CHILD, AND AGGRAVATED SEXUAL CONTACT

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of ESMOND NIMBLETT (DOB: 07/31/1974; single; carpenter) of Clifton, NJ, on charges of sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, aggravated criminal sexual contact. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Englewood Police Department under the direction of Chief Thomas Greeley.
On Thursday, August 3, 2023, ESMOND NIMBLETT was charged with sexual assault of a child between the ages of 13 and 16 following an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Englewood Police Department. As a result of that investigation, on Thursday, August 17, 2023, an additional victim was identified, and the investigation revealed that ESMOND NIMBLETT sexually assaulted a child between the ages of 13 and 16, on more than one occasion in Englewood.
On Thursday, October 5, 2023, ESMOND NIMBLETT was arrested in Hackensack, NJ, and charged with four counts of second-degree sexual assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2c(4); third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a; and two counts of fourth-degree aggravated sexual contact, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3a. NIMBLETT was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
