DANBURY, CT MAN CHARGED WITH LURING AND DEBAUCHING THE MORALS OF A CHILD

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of EDISON BUENO-TENEMPAGUAY (DOB: 6/28/1994; single; dance instructor) of 300 Main Street, Danbury, Connecticut on charges of luring and debauching the morals of a child. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.
In March of 2023, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit received information that a child from Bergen County was being engaged in conversations on social media with an adult male, some of which were sexually explicit in nature. On several occasions throughout the course of the conversations, the adult male attempted to arrange for an in-person meeting, describing sexual acts he planned on performing upon the child.
An investigation was initiated by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit. The investigation revealed that EDISON BUENO-TENEMPAGUAY of Danbury, CT controlled the online accounts being utilized to contact the child and engaged in sexually explicit dialogue. During the online chats, BUENO-TENEMPAGUAY instructed the child to send sexually explicit photos and shared sexually explicit digital files via the Internet with the child.
On Friday, March 17, 2023, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit travelled to Danbury, CT and executed a search warrant at the residence of BUENO-TENEMPAGUAY with the coordination and assistance of the Danbury, CT Police Department under the direction of Chief Patrick Ridenhour.
As a result of the investigation, EDISON BUENO-TENEMPAGUAY was arrested on Friday, March 17, 2023 in Danbury, CT and charged with second-degree luring, N.J.S.A. 2C:13-6; and third-degree debauching the morals of a child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1). BUENO was remanded to the Bridgeport, CT Correctional Center pending extradition to Bergen County, NJ.
This investigation, led by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit, is ongoing.
