Military Appreciation Month Ceremony

Prosecutor Mark Musella attended Bergen County’s annual Military Appreciation Month Ceremony at One Bergen County Plaza, which honored all Bergen County service members who have sacrificed to protect and defend our freedom. It is due to their service, which we honor every day, that we are able to be the “Home of the Free.”

This year’s Keynote Speaker was Chief Master Sergeant Kevin Laliberte. Mr. Laliberte retired after more than 23 years in the Air Force and holds the highest rank possible. He is also the President and Founder of the Executive Action Group, which specializes in advising civilian clients on military operations and acquisitions processes.

Chief Master Sergeant Kevin Laliberte holds Proclamation alongside Assemblyman Chris Tully, Director of Bergen County Division of Veteran Services Shaun Hutchinson, Commissioner Mary Amoroso, Commissioner Germaine Ortiz, Commissioner Steve Tanelli, County Executive Tedesco, Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Cureton, Prosecutor Mark Musella and Bergen County Clerk John Hogan.

Fentanyl Awareness Day

On Fentanyl Awareness Day, BCPO is sounding the alarm. "Last year, we estimate that more than 175 Bergen County residents died of an overdose, and these deaths are largely due to the fentanyl that has been pouring into our communities, killing our friends and family. Fentanyl has been found in every type of drug on the street,” said Prosecutor Mark Musella.

Through grant funding provided by the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, the BCPO supports a partnership between law enforcement and The Center for Alcohol and Drug Resources through Operation Helping Hand, to connect Bergen County residents struggling with addiction and their families to support and treatment.

Read Across America Month

During Read Across America Month, members of the BCPO’s Command Staff visited multiple schools throughout Bergen County, reading books to students with encouraging messages to keep trying, to be accepting of others and to always be kind.

Women's History Month

During Women's History Month, we celebrated the significant contributions of women within the BCPO. Throughout the month, we featured various women in the BCPO to honor their service to Bergen County.

Battle of the Blue

BCPO and 16 Police Departments in Northern New Jersey and their respective PBA Locals sponsored the Annual Brian Beutel Battle of the Blue at Fairleigh Dickinson University's Rothman Center in Hackensack, NJ.

Proceeds from the basketball competition once again benefitted the Tomorrows Children's Fund at Hackensack University Medical Center, which provides emotional, social and financial assistance to hundreds of local children and their families who are fighting cancer or a serious blood disorder.
