Military Appreciation Month Ceremony

Prosecutor Mark Musella and Chief Jason Love attended Bergen County’s annual Military Appreciation Month Ceremony at One Bergen County Plaza, which honored all Bergen County service members who have sacrificed to protect and defend our freedom. It is due to their service, which we honor every day, that we are able to be the “Home of the Free.”

This year’s Keynote Speaker was Chief Master Sergeant Kevin Laliberte. Mr. Laliberte retired after more than 23 years in the Air Force and holds the highest rank possible. He is also the President and Founder of the Executive Action Group, which specializes in advising civilian clients on military operations and acquisitions processes.

Chief Master Sergeant Kevin Laliberte holds Proclamation alongside Assemblyman Chris Tully, Director of Bergen County Division of Veteran Services Shaun Hutchinson, Commissioner Mary Amoroso, Commissioner Germaine Ortiz, Commissioner Steve Tanelli, County Executive Tedesco, Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Cureton, Prosecutor Mark Musella and Bergen County Clerk John Hogan.

Fentanyl Awareness Day

On Fentanyl Awareness Day, BCPO is sounding the alarm. "Last year, we estimate that more than 175 Bergen County residents died of an overdose, and these deaths are largely due to the fentanyl that has been pouring into our communities, killing our friends and family. Fentanyl has been found in every type of drug on the street,” said Prosecutor Mark Musella.

Through grant funding provided by the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, the BCPO supports a partnership between law enforcement and The Center for Alcohol and Drug Resources through Operation Helping Hand, to connect Bergen County residents struggling with addiction and their families to support and treatment.

If you are seeking support or resources for yourself or a loved one, please call/text (201) 589-2976 or go to www.stoptheods.com

We also congratulate Chief Assistant Prosecutor Jessica Gomperts for being honored with the "Gladiator" Award by the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General for her career of advocacy on behalf of victims of domestic violence.
