Press Releases << ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, NJ MAN CHARGED WITH LURING, AGGRAVATED CRIMINAL SEXUAL CONTACT, AND CHILD ENDANGERMENT

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of 31-year-old SEBASTIAN NINO-LOPEZ of Englewood Cliffs, NJ on charges of luring, aggravated criminal sexual contact, and endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Chief Jeff Angermeyer, and the Englewood Police Department, under the direction of Chief Thomas Greeley.

On Saturday, June 6, 2026, the Englewood Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding an alleged sexual assault. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Englewood Police Department revealed that SEBASTIAN NINO-LOPEZ attempted to sexually assault a juvenile at Mackay Park in Englewood, NJ on June 6, 2026.

As a result of the investigation, on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, SEBASTIAN NINO-LOPEZ was arrested in Englewood Cliffs, NJ and charged with second-degree luring, N.J.S.A. 2C:13-6a; two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1) and N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(2) respectively; and two counts of third-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3a. NINO-LOPEZ was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending further court action in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, NJ.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations, and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Prosecutor Musella would like to thank the Englewood Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
