Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrests of 23-year-old AJAHMIR S. CUTTINO of Scranton, PA; 24-year-old RHYONNE S. JACKSON of Passaic, NJ; 26-year-old AJAHWAN T. KENNER of West Orange, NJ; 24-year-old ANTRELL MONROE of Wilkes-Barre, PA; and 24-year-old JAHAD K. WATSON of Wilkes-Barre, PA, on charges stemming from an armed robbery and aggravated assault incident. The arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Chief Jeff Angermeyer, and the South Hackensack Police Department, under the direction of Chief Robert Chinchar.

On Saturday, May 9, 2026, officers from the South Hackensack Police Department responded to a local hospital to meet with victims of a possible aggravated assault and robbery that occurred in South Hackensack, NJ, earlier that day. Responding officers determined that one of the victims, an adult male, was struck over the head with a metal object, which he believed to be a handgun, during a robbery on Saddle River Road. The victim was treated for a non-life-threatening head wound and ultimately released from the hospital. The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Squad was notified of the incident and initiated a joint investigation with the South Hackensack Police Department.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a total of five individuals, one of whom appeared to be in possession of a handgun, robbed and physically assaulted the victim before fleeing with cash and other personal belongings. Detectives identified their getaway vehicle as a black Jeep Grand Cherokee. During the months that followed, detectives subsequently identified AJAHMIR S. CUTTINO, RHYONNE S. JACKSON, AJAHWAN T. KENNER, ANTRELL MONROE, and JAHAD K. WATSON as the suspects who took part in the armed robbery and aggravated assault.

On Wednesday, August 26, 2026, detectives filed arrest warrants charging the suspects in connection with the armed robbery and aggravated assault. Specifically, AJAHMIR S. CUTTINO; RHYONNE S. JACKSON; AJAHWAN T. KENNER; ANTRELL MONROE; and JAHAD K. WATSON were each charged with first-degree armed robbery, N.J.S.A. 2C:15-1a(1); second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5b(1); second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4a(1); third-degree aggravated assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1b(2); and fourth-degree aggravated assault by pointing a firearm, N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1b(4).

On Thursday, August 27, 2026, with the assistance of the Passaic Police Department and the West Orange Police Department, RHYONNE S. JACKSON, AJAHWAN T. KENNER, and ANTRELL MONROE were located by detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the South Hackensack Police Department in Passaic County, NJ. All three men were taken into custody without incident. With the assistance of the Bergen County Regional SWAT Team, detectives then executed a court-authorized search warrant at JACKSON’S residence in Passaic, NJ. After his arrest, detectives discovered an unserialized firearm loaded with a high-capacity magazine in a backpack believed to belong to JACKSON. Accordingly, JACKSON was further charged with another count of second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5b(1); and third-degree possession of an unserialized firearm, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-3n. Following their arrests, RHYONNE S. JACKSON, AJAHWAN T. KENNER, and ANTRELL MONROE were all remanded to the Bergen County Jail, where they are detained pending further court action.

Also on Thursday, August 27, 2026, with the assistance of the Wilkes-Barre City (PA) Police Department, and the Scranton (PA) Police Department, detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the South Hackensack Police Department located AJAHMIR S. CUTTINO and JAHAD K. WATSON in Pennsylvania. Both men were taken into custody without incident by Pennsylvania authorities. JAHAD K. WATSON was lodged in the Luzerne County (PA) Jail and AJAHMIR S. CUTTINO was lodged in the Lackawanna County (PA) Prison. Both men are detained, pending extradition back to Bergen County, NJ.

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella states that the charges are merely accusations, and that the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
