For Immediate Release:
September 21, 2022
Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of ELIJAH HUTCHENS (DOB: 5/03/2003; single; unemployed) of Huntsville, AL on manufacturing and possessing child pornography charges. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Paramus Police Department under the direction of Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg.
Subsequent to a previous investigation and arrest in March of 2022 when the Paramus Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a child, detectives ultimately determined that ELIJAH HUTCHENS also endangered the welfare of a child by causing a child to engage in a sexual act while recording it.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, ELIJAH HUTCHENS was additionally charged with first-degree manufacturing of child pornography, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4b(3) and third-degree possession of child pornography, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4b(5). HUTCHENS was served with the new charges while already in custody at the Bergen County Jail, and remains held pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and he would like to thank the Paramus Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
