Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of 37-year-old MARVIN A. NUGRA RUIZ of Little Falls, NJ on charges of sexual assault, criminal sexual contact, and endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Chief Jeff Angermeyer, and the Moonachie Police Department, under the direction of Chief Richard Behrens.

On Friday, April 10, 2026, the Moonachie Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding an alleged sexual assault. A month-long investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Moonachie Police Department revealed that MARVIN A. NUGRA RUIZ attempted to sexually assault a female juvenile victim inside a Moonachie, NJ residence in February 2026. Additionally, detectives determined that an incident of criminal sexual contact involving the same victim and NUGRA RUIZ also occurred between January 2025 and February 2026 in Little Falls, NJ.

As a result of the investigation, on Thursday, May 14, 2026, MARVIN A. NUGRA RUIZ was arrested in Paramus, NJ and charged with second-degree sexual assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2b; two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1); and three counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3b. NUGRA RUIZ was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, NJ.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations, and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He would like to thank the Moonachie Police Department for its assistance in this investigation. Moreover, he thanks the Little Falls Police Department and the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office for their assistance and coordination in this matter.
