LODI, NJ MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR AN UNLAWFUL PURPOSE AND UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A WEAPON

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of ANDRAE DANIELS (DOB: 10/16/1982; single; unemployed) of 242 Garibaldi Avenue, Apt. 6, Lodi, NJ on charges of murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Leonia Police Department under the direction of Chief Scott Tamagny.
At 9:59 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2022, the Leonia Police Department received a 911 call reporting a stabbing at a residence in Leonia. Upon their arrival at the residence, officers found 35-year-old Alicia A. Arnone deceased from an apparent stab wound. An investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Leonia Police Department revealed that ANDRAE DANIELS fatally stabbed Arnone.
On March 26, 2022, ANDRAE DANIELS was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3a(1) and N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3a(2); third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4d; and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, 2C:39-5d. DANIELS was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and he would also like to thank the Leonia Police Department and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in this investigation.
