Tuesday, August 2, 2022 was celebrated nationally as America’s night out against crime. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood rapport to make neighborhoods safer, better places to live. Many Bergen County towns will offer family friendly activities, food and informational giveaways.

At this year’s events, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office joined with the County of Bergen, the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, and representatives from local police departments in Englewood, Glen Rock, Harrington Park, New Milford, Palisades Park, Paramus, Ridgefield, Rochelle Park, Rutherford, Saddle Brook and Teaneck to launch the ”Bergen Beeps” initiative. In response to an alarming spike in vehicle thefts, this county-wide program encourages car owners to take preventative steps to safeguard the security of their vehicles.
