ODESSA, TEXAS MEN CHARGED WITH DRUG OFFENSES

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrests of CAMERINO HERNANDEZ-ATANACIO (DOB: 8/21/1990; single; unemployed) and ALEXIS ARAUJO-ATANACIO (DOB: 10/07/2003; single; unemployed) both of 1314 Wilson Street, Odessa, TX on drug offenses. The arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the New York Drug Enforcement Administration under the direction of Special Agent in Charge Frank A. Tarantino, III.
On March 3, 2023, an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force and the New York Drug Enforcement Administration revealed that CAMERINO HERNANDEZ-ATANACIO and ALEXIS ARAUJO-ATANACIO were transporting bulk shipments of narcotics through Bergen County. During the investigation, a search was conducted on their vehicle in Little Ferry, NJ that revealed two kilograms of fentanyl. CAMERINO HERNANDEZ-ATANACIO was also in possession of approximately two grams of cocaine.
As a result of the investigation, CAMERINO HERNANDEZ-ATANACIO and ALEXIS ARAUJO-ATANACIO were arrested at the scene and charged with second-degree possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(4). HERNANDEZ-ATANACIO was also charged with third-degree possession of cocaine, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(1). They were remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending their first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable
doubt, and he would like to thank the New York Drug Enforcement Administration for their assistance with this investigation.
