Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrest of ROBERT M. AKRIDGE (DOB: 03/03/1990; single; and unemployed) of 980 Main Street, Apt. C5, Hackensack, New Jersey on narcotics-related offenses. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief of Detectives Robert ANZILOTTI, the Hackensack Police Department under the direction of Officer-in-Charge Captain Francesco AQUILA, and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office under the direction of Sheriff Michael SAUDINO.
During the month of October 2016, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office observed ROBERT AKRIDGE distributing marijuana in Bergen County, New Jersey. On November 17, 2016, members of the Bergen County Narcotics Task Force, the Hackensack Police Department, and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at AKRIDGE’s apartment in Hackensack, New Jersey. As a result of the search warrant, approximately 1 pound of marijuana, 1/2 ounce of cocaine, and $ 2,570.00 were seized from his apartment.
AKRIDGE was charged with the following offenses: one count of Possession With the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely MARIJUANA, in a quantity of one ounce or more, but less than five (5) pounds, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35- 5A(1)/5B(11), a third degree crime; and one count of Possession With the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely COCAINE, in a quantity of less than one-half ounce, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5B(3), a third degree crime.
The Honorable Louis Dinice, J.M.C. of the Bergen County Central Municipal Court set bail at $ 25,000.00 with no ten percent option. AKRIDGE is scheduled to appear in Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court for a first appearance on December 7, 2016 at 8:30 a.m.
Bergen County Prosecutor Grewal states that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and would also like to thank the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office and the Hackensack Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
