Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced today the arrest of PATRICK LACORTE (DOB: 10/22/1992; single; and self-employed at a moving company) of 777 Asbury Street, New Milford, New Jersey on drug offenses. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Robert ANZILOTTI, the New Milford Police Department under the direction of Chief Frank RAMACI, and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit under the direction of Sheriff Michael SAUDINO.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office received information that Patrick LACORTE was involved in the distribution of Controlled Dangerous Substances in the area of New Milford, New Jersey. On Thursday, December 1, 2016, a court-authorized search warrant was executed at Mr. LACORTE’s residence. Suspected cocaine and marijuana, as well as drug paraphernalia, were located and seized at this location. Additionally, $6,865.00 was also seized at this location.
As a result of the investigation, Patrick LACORTE turned himself into the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office for arrest processing on December 6, 2016 and was charged with one count of Possessing With the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely Cocaine, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5B(2), a Second Degree Crime; and one count of Possessing With the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely Cocaine, within 1000 feet of Berkeley School, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-7A, a Third Degree Crime.
The Honorable Louis Dinice, J.M.C. set bail for LACORTE at $25,000 with no ten percent (10%) cash option. LACORTE was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail and is scheduled to appear in Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court for a first appearance on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 8:30 AM.
Bergen County Prosecutor Grewal states that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and would also like to thank the New Milford Police Department and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit for their assistance in this investigation.
