Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrest of ALAN CARRINO, JR. (DOB: 4/06/1974; married; and employed as a Corrections Officer with the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department) of 529 New York Avenue, Lyndhurst, New Jersey on charges of Aggravated Sexual Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Robert ANZILOTTI and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department under the direction of Sheriff Michael SAUDINO.
On Wednesday, January 25, 2017, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office was contacted by an adult female victim, who advised that she was sexually assaulted by Alan CARRINO, Jr. on multiple occasions in 2003 and 2004 when she was between the ages of 12 and 13 years old. An investigation by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit ensued.
As a result of the investigation, CARRINO, Jr. was arrested on Thursday, February 2, 2017, in Paramus, New Jersey, and charged with one count of Aggravated Sexual Assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2a(1), a 1st degree crime; one count of Aggravated Sexual Assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2a(2a), a 1st degree crime; and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a, a 3rd degree crime.
CARRINO Jr. was lodged in the Morris County Jail pending his arraignment and is scheduled to appear in Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court for a first appearance on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 1:30 p.m.
Prosecutor Grewal states that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would like to thank the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department and the Tulsa, Oklahoma Police department for their assistance in this investigation.
