Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrest of PAUL EDMONDS (DOB: 4/3/1995; single; and employed as a moving company handler) of 124 Prospect Street, Lodi, New Jersey for an outstanding arrest warrant. EDMONDS also received additional charges related to the possession and distribution of controlled dangerous substances. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Robert ANZILOTTI, the Dumont Police Department under the direction of Chief Michael J. CONNER, and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office under the direction of Sheriff Michael SAUDINO.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Dumont Police Department received information that PAUL EDMONDS was involved in the distribution of controlled dangerous substances, and was currently residing at 71 Ontario Street in Dumont, New Jersey to avoid arrest for an outstanding warrant. On Thursday, February 16, 2017, police personnel executed a search warrant at the residence located at 71 Ontario Street, Dumont, New Jersey. Edmonds was located at this residence, and was found to be in possession of approximately seventy Xanax bars, marijuana packaged for distribution, drug paraphernalia including digital scales and baggies, and a Blank Ekol 9mm pistol with a magazine.
Paul EDMONDS was arrested without incident, and was charged with one count of Possession With the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely Xanax, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5B(13), a Third Degree Crime; one count of Possession With the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely Xanax, within 1000 feet of a Public Park, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-7.1A, a Second Degree Crime; one count of Possession With the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely
Marijuana, under one ounce, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5B(12), a Fourth Degree Crime; and one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, N.J.S.C. 2C:36-3, a Fourth Degree Crime. Mr. EDMONDS was remanded to the Bergen County Jail.
Prosecutor Grewal states that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and would also like to thank the Dumont Police Department and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit for their assistance in this investigation.
