BARRY HOFFBERG AND KEVIN CONCANNON OF HACKENSACK ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES

Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrests of BARRY A. HOFFBERG (DOB: 01/08/1967; single; and unemployed) of 240 Prospect Avenue, Apt 579, Hackensack, New Jersey and KEVIN CONCANNON (DOB: 05/27/1972; Married; and unemployed) of 240 Prospect Avenue, Apt. 305, Hackensack, New Jersey on various narcotics related charges. These arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Robert ANZILOTTI, the Hackensack Police Department under the direction of Captain Frank Aquila, and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office under the direction of Sheriff Michael SAUDINO.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office received information that Barry HOFFBERG was distributing controlled dangerous substances in his apartment in Hackensack, New Jersey. On Friday, February 17, 2017, police personnel conducted a search warrant at HOFFBERG’s residence. Suspected marijuana, cocaine, oxycodone, psilocybin mushrooms, Ecstasy, Suboxone, and drug paraphernalia associated with the distribution of controlled dangerous substances were recovered along with $5,751.00. Kevin CONCANNON was also arrested for hindering his own apprehension and possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely cocaine.

Barry HOFFBERG was arrested without incident, and was charged with one count of Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely Marijuana, in a quantity of one ounce or more but less the five pounds, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5A(1)/5B(11), a Third Degree Crime; one count of Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely Oxycodone, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5B(13), a Third Degree Crime; one count of Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely Psilocybin Mushrooms, in violation of N.J.S.A 2C:35-5B(13); and one count of Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely Cocaine, in violation of N.J.S.A 2C:35-5B(3), a Third degree crime.

Kevin CONCANNON was charged with one count of Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely Cocaine, in violation of N.J.S.A 2C:35-5B(3), a Third degree crime; and one count of Knowingly or Purposely Suppress, by way of Concealment, Evidence of the Crime, in violation of N.J.S.A 2C:29-3A(3), a Fourth Degree Crime.

Prosecutor Grewal states that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would also like to thank the Hackensack Police Department and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in this investigation.
