Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrest of JASIN PENN (DOB: 03/05/1970; married; and unemployed) of 63 Stokes Avenue, Lodi, New Jersey on charges related to the possession and distribution of controlled dangerous substances. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Robert ANZILOTTI, the Lodi Police Department under the direction of Chief Vincent QUATRONE, and the Elmwood Park Police Department under the direction of Chief Michael FOLIGNO.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office received information that Jasin PENN was distributing controlled dangerous substances in the area of Lodi, New Jersey. On Monday, February 27, 2017, police personnel executed an arrest warrant of Jasin PENN for the distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance to an undercover detective. While conducting a search of Jasin PENN upon his arrest, suspected crack cocaine was recovered.
Jasin PENN was arrested without incident, and was charged with one count of Distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely Cocaine, in a quantity less than one-half (1/2) ounce, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5B(3), a Third Degree Crime; and one count of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely Cocaine in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C;35-10A(1), a Third Degree Crime. PENN was remanded at the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in the Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court.
Prosecutor Grewal states that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would also like to thank the Lodi Police Department and the Elmwood Park Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
