Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrest of RONALD KRAUS (DOB: 9/12/1975; single; employed as a teacher) of 647 Maple Avenue, Teaneck, New Jersey on charges of Sexual Assault by Sexual Contact and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Robert ANZILOTTI, and the Teaneck Police Department under the direction of Acting Chief Glenn M. O’REILLY.
On Wednesday, February 22, 2017, the Teaneck Police Department and Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office received information that a 6-year-old female victim was inappropriately touched by Ronald KRAUS on Friday, February 17, 2017, in Teaneck, New Jersey.
As a result of the investigation and interviews, Ronald KRAUS was arrested on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 in Paramus, New Jersey and charged with one count of Sexual Assault by Sexual Contact, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2b, a 2nd degree crime; and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a., a 2nd degree crime. Ronald KRAUS was lodged in the Bergen County Jail pending his arraignment. KRAUS is scheduled to appear in Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court for a first appearance on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 1:30 p.m.
Bergen County Prosecutor Grewal states that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would also like to thank the Teaneck Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
