MICHAEL GALE AND GINA EDWARDS OF CLIFFSIDE PARK CHARGED WITH POSSESSION WITH THE INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE CRACK COCAINE AND POSSESSION OF XANAX PILLS
Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrests of MICHAEL GALE (DOB: 09/08/1986; single; food service employee) and GINA EDWARDS (DOB:03/24/1987; single; food service employee) of 20 Lawton Avenue, Apt. #404, Cliffside Park, New Jersey, were arrested on charges related to the possession of controlled dangerous substances. These arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Cliffside Park Police Department under the direction of Chief Richard Gaito.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office received information that MICHAEL GALE and GINA EDWARDS were distributing controlled dangerous substances in Cliffside Park, New Jersey. On Wednesday, June 28, 2017, police personnel executed a court authorized search warrant at 20 Lawton Avenue, Apt. #404, Cliffside Park, New Jersey. During the execution of the search warrant, Michael GALE and Gina EDWARDS were found in possession of Crack Cocaine, Xanax pills and drug paraphernalia.
Michael GALE and Gina EDWARDS were arrested without incident and charged with violating one count of Possession with the Intent to Distribute Controlled Dangerous Substances, namely Crack Cocaine, in a quantity less than one-half (1/2) ounce, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5B(3), a Third Degree Crime and one count of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, specifically Xanax pills without a valid prescription, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10.5A(3), a Third Degree Crime.
Michael GALE was remanded to the Bergen County Jail and Gina EDWARDS was released on her own recognizance pending a first appearance in the Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court on Wednesday, July 12, 2017. Bergen County Prosecutor Grewal states that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would also like to thank the Bergen County Regional SWAT Team, Bergen County Sheriff’s Department K9 Unit and the Cliffside Park Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
