Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrest of ALEXIS GONZALEZ (DOB: 03/02/1989; single; and employed as a stock clerk) of Hackensack, New Jersey on a charge of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, to wit: Possession of Child Pornography. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Cyber Crimes Unit under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Newark Field Office under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Tim Gallagher.
On Thursday, July 27, 2017, while conducting an investigation, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit found that Alexis GONZALEZ utilized electronic devices such as a desktop computer to access the Internet and view images and videos of child pornography.
As a result of the investigation, Alexis GONZALEZ was arrested on Thursday, July 27, 2017 in Hackensack, New Jersey and charged with one count of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4B(5)(A), Endangering the Welfare of a Child, to wit: Possession of Child Pornography, a 3rd degree crime. After being processed, Alexis GONZALEZ was released pending a first appearance at the Bergen County Central Judicial Court on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 8:30 a.m.
Prosecutor Grewal states that this charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would also like to thank the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Newark Field Office for their assistance in this investigation.
