These arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti.
During a narcotics investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, a motor vehicle stop was conducted in the area of Teaneck, NJ on a grey 2004 Honda Pilot. A subsequent search revealed five bricks of heroin and approximately eight grams of cocaine in an electronically operated aftermarket hidden compartment. More than $1,500.00 in suspected drug proceeds was also seized. The vehicle was occupied by Miguel URBAEZ and George PEREZ.
Miguel URBAEZ and George PEREZ were each charged with two counts of Possession with the intent to Distribute a controlled dangerous substance, namely Heroin and Cocaine, both in a quantity of less than one-half ounce, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5B(3), both crimes of the third degree. Prosecutor Grewal states that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
