Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrests of TYRON S. FROST (DOB: 4/16/1994; single; and unemployed) of 76 Keen Street, Paterson, New Jersey and JARED A. WASHINGTON (DOB: 9/10/1996; single; and unemployed) of 88 Pennington Avenue, Passaic, New Jersey on narcotics related charges. These arrests are the result of a joint investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Hackensack Police Department under the direction of Officer In Charge Captain Frank Aquila.
During a narcotics investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, FROST and WASHINGTON were observed in a hand-to-hand drug transaction in the parking lot of the Capri Hotel in Little Ferry, New Jersey. A subsequent motor vehicle stop resulted in the seizure of approximately six ounces of marijuana.
TYRON S. FROST and JARED A. WASHINGTON were each charged with one count of Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely Marijuana in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(11), a Third Degree Crime. FROST and WASHINGTON were released on their own recognizance pending a Central Judicial Processing court date on September 20, 2017.
Prosecutor Grewal states that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would also like to thank the Hackensack Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
