Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrest of MICHAEL YOSCO, JR. (DOB: 3/25/1947; widower; and retired) of Garfield, New Jersey on the charge of Possession of Child Pornography. The arrest is the result of an investigation led by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Cyber Crimes Unit under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti.
On Friday, September 15, 2017, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit initiated an investigation at the home of Michael YOSCO, Jr. concerning computer files depicting child pornography on the Internet. The investigation revealed that YOSCO utilized the Internet to access, view, and possess sexually explicit files depicting prepubescent and pubescent children.
As a result, Michael YOSCO, Jr. was arrested on Monday, September 18, 2017 and charged with one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, to wit: Possession of Child Pornography, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4B(5)(B), a third degree crime. YOSCO was charged by way of Complaint-Summons, released on his own recognizance, and is scheduled for a first appearance at the Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 8:30 a.m.
Prosecutor Grewal states that this charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Prosecutor Grewal would like to thank the Garfield Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
