Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrest of JOSHUA SIMMONS (DOB: 11/14/1986; single; and employed as a stock broker) of 29 Linden Street, Apt. 504, Hackensack, NJ. This arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti, the Hackensack Police Department under the direction of Officer in Charge Captain Francesco Aquila, and the Dumont Police Department under the direction of Chief Michael J. Conner.
A narcotics investigation revealed that Joshua SIMMONS was involved in the distribution of controlled dangerous substances. On Monday, September 18, 2017, law enforcement personnel executed a search warrant at SIMMMONS’ residence. Suspected controlled dangerous substances including cocaine, marijuana, and unknown pills, as well as drug paraphernalia, and $1,250.00 in U.S. currency were seized. SIMMONS was arrested without incident.
Joshua SIMMONS was charged with one count of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely Cocaine, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10A(1), a Third Degree Crime; and one count of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, under fifty grams, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10A(4), a Disorderly Person’s Offense. SIMMONS was released on a summons pending a first appearance court date at Central Judicial Processing on Wednesday, October 4, 2017.
Prosecutor Grewal states that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Prosecutor Grewal would like to thank the Hackensack Police Department, and the Dumont Police Department for their assistance.
