ARHAM MUSTAFA AND ARSAL MUSTAFA OF LITTLE FERRY, NJ CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL SEXUAL CONTACT

Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrests of ARHAM MUSTAFA (DOB: 10/06/1997; single, and a student) and ARSAL MUSTAFA (DOB: 10/06/1997; single, and a student) of Little Ferry, New Jersey on charges of Sexual Assault and Criminal Sexual Contact. The arrests are the result of a joint investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti, and the Little Ferry Police Department under the direction of Chief Ralph Verdi.

On Monday, October 30, 2017, the Little Ferry Police Department and Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office received information from a 17-year-old female who alleged that Arham and Arsal MUSTAFA inappropriately touched her in Little Ferry, New Jersey. As a result of the information received, members of the Little Ferry Police Department and Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit initiated an investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Arham and Arsal MUSTAFA were arrested on Friday, November 3, 2017 in Paramus, New Jersey. Arham MUSTAFA was charged with two counts of Sexual Assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2c(3)(a), a second degree crime; and one count of Criminal Sexual Contact, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3b, a fourth degree crime. Arsal MUSTAFA was charged with one count of Criminal Sexual Contact, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3b, a fourth degree crime. Following their first appearance on November 4, 2017, Arham and Arsal MUSTAFA are being held in the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing on Wednesday, November 8, 2017.

Prosecutor Grewal states that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would also like to thank the Little Ferry Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
