STEPHEN LOPEZ-LEJARDE CHARGED WITH COCAINE DISTRIBUTION IN TEANECK, NJ

Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrest of STEPHEN A. LOPEZ-LEJARDE (DOB: 11/11/1986; single; and employed as a restaurant owner) of 201 Ayers Court, Teaneck, New Jersey.  The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti, the Dumont Police Department under the direction of Chief Michael Conner, the Teaneck Police Department under the direction of Chief Glenn O’Reilly, and the Cliffside Park Police Department under the direction of Chief Richard Gaito.

In March 2017, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office received information that Steven LOPEZ-LEJARDE was involved in the distribution of cocaine in the Teaneck, New Jersey area.  During the course of a subsequent narcotics investigation, LOPEZ-LEJARDE distributed cocaine to an undercover detective from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office in Teaneck, New Jersey.

On Wednesday, November 29, 2017, Stephen LOPEZ-LEJARDE was arrested at his residence in Teaneck, New Jersey and charged with one count of Distribution of Cocaine in a quantity less than one-half ounce, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5B(3), a 3rd degree crime. LOPEZ-LEJARDE was released on a summons pending a first appearance court date at Central Judicial Processing on Wednesday, December 20, 2017.

Prosecutor Grewal states that the charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would also like to thank the Dumont Police Department, the Teaneck Police Department, and the Cliffside Park Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
