Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrest of MARCOS DELACRUZ (DOB: 7/31/1967; married; and employed as a laborer) of 495 Washington Avenue, Hackensack, New Jersey on charges of Aggravated Sexual Assault, Sexual Assault by Sexual Contact, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti, and the Hackensack Police Department under the direction of Officer in Charge Francesco Aquila.
On Tuesday, November 28, 2017, the Hackensack Police Department received a report alleging Marcos DELACRUZ had inappropriate sexual contact with a juvenile in Hackensack, New Jersey from 2012 to 2014 when the child was between the ages of 6 and 8 years old.
On Wednesday, November 29, 2017, the Hackensack Police Department received another report alleging that Marcos DELACRUZ had inappropriate sexual contact with another juvenile in Hackensack, New Jersey from 2011 to 2017 when that child was between the ages of 5 and 11 years old. As a result of the information received, Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Hackensack Police Department initiated a joint investigation.
As a result of the investigation, Marcos DELACRUZ was arrested on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in Paramus, New Jersey and charged with one count of Aggravated Sexual Assault, N.J.S.A. 2C: 14-2b, a first degree crime; two counts of Sexual Assault by Sexual Contact, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2b, a second degree crime; and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a, a second degree crime.
DELACRUZ is scheduled for a first appearance in Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 1:30 p.m.
Prosecutor Grewal states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would also like to thank the Hackensack Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
