Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrest of MIKE URGILES (DOB: 1/7/1998; single; and a student) of 730 Princeton Street, New Milford, New Jersey on charges of Aggravated Sexual Assault, Sexual Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the New Milford Police Department under the direction of Chief Frank Ramaci.
On Tuesday, December 5, 2017, the New Milford Police Department and Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit received information that Mike URGILES had inappropriate sexual contact in New Milford, New Jersey with a 17-year-old victim, which began when the victim was 15 years old.
As a result of the investigation, Mike URGILES was arrested on December 5, 2017 in New Milford, New Jersey and charged with one count of Aggravated Sexual Assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2a(2)(a), a 1st degree crime; one count of Sexual Assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2c(3)(a), a 2nd degree crime; and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a, a 2nd degree crime. URGILES was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his arraignment, and appeared at Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court for a first appearance on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. URGILES remains in the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing scheduled for Monday, December 11, 2017 before Judge James X. Sattely.
Prosecutor Grewal states that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would like to thank the New Milford Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
