Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrest of TADD D. MITCHELL, JR. (DOB: 4/30/1985; single; and unemployed) of 228 River Street, Apt. 403, Hackensack, New Jersey on a drug charge. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti.
During December 2017, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office received information that Tadd MITCHELL was involved in the distribution of cocaine in the Bergen County, New Jersey area. As a result of the information received, a criminal narcotics investigation was initiated. On Friday, December 15, 2017, an investigative motor vehicle stop was conducted on MITCHELL, who was operating a Honda Accord in Paramus, New Jersey. A search of the vehicle revealed a hidden compartment containing approximately two hundred grams of suspected cocaine.
MITCHELL was placed under arrest without incident, and transported to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office for arrest processing. The Honda Accord was seized pending forfeiture proceedings. The approximate street value of the cocaine seized on this date is $10,000.00.
Tadd MITCHELL was charged with one count of Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine in a Quantity Greater than Five Ounces, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(1), a 1st degree crime. MITCHELL was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a Central Judicial Processing Court appearance.
Prosecutor Grewal states that the charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would also like to thank the Paramus Police Department, the Tenafly Police Department, and the Bergen County Regional SWAT Team for their assistance in this investigation.
