Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrest of JOSEPH DIFALCO (DOB: 7/30/50; married; and employed as a property manager) of 15 Bent Tree Lane, Kinnelon, New Jersey on charges of Sexual Assault by Sexual Contact and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Norwood Police Department under the direction of Chief Jeffrey Krapels.
On Thursday, December 14, 2017, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office received information that Joseph DIFALCO had inappropriate sexual contact with a juvenile female. As a result of the information received, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and Norwood Police Department initiated an investigation and Joseph DIFALCO was arrested on Monday, December 18, 2017 in Paramus, New Jersey and charged with one count of Sexual Assault by Sexual Contact, N.J.S.A., 2C:14-2b, a 2nd degree crime, and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, N.J.S.A.,2C:24-4a, a 3rd degree crime. DIFALCO’s first appearance in Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court was held on December 19, 2017, at which time he was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing scheduled for Friday, December 22, 2017.
Prosecutor Grewal states that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would also like to thank the Norwood Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
