VERONICA BAUTISTA OF ENGLEWOOD, NJ CHARGED WITH CHILD ABUSE

            Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo announced the arrest of VERONICA BAUTISTA (DOB: 09/23/1985; single; unemployed) of 45 Mattlage Place, Englewood, NJ on charges of Child Abuse.  The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti, and the Englewood Police Department under the direction of Chief Lawrence Suffern. 

            On Wednesday, April 11, 2018, the Division of Child Protection and Permanency was alerted that a child reported to school in Englewood, NJ with significant bruising and other marks of violence.  The Division of Child Protection and Permanency responded to the school and alerted law enforcement.          

            Veronica BAUTISTA was arrested on Thursday, April 12, 2018, and charged with one count of a New Jersey Title 9 Violation of Child Abuse, a crime of the 4th degree.  Veronica BAUTISTA is scheduled for a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, New Jersey on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 9:30 a.m.

            Acting Prosecutor Calo states that the charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would also like to thank the Englewood Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
