Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo announced the arrest of LEON AGUIN-LOPEZ (DOB: 01/13/1971; married; and employed as a laborer) of Fairview, New Jersey on charges of Aggravated Sexual Contact and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti, and the Fairview Police Department under the direction of Chief Martin Kahn.
On Friday, April 13, 2018, the Fairview Police Department received a report that a juvenile female was inappropriately touched over the course of a year by Leon Aguin-Lopez in Fairview, New Jersey.
As a result of an investigation by the Fairview Police Department and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, Leon AGUIN-LOPEZ was arrested on Saturday, April 14, 2018 in Fairview and charged with one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24A(1), a crime of the 2nd degree; and one count of Aggravated Sexual Contact, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3A, a crime of the 3rd degree. AGUIN-LOPEZ is scheduled for a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, New Jersey on Monday, April 16, 2018.
Acting Prosecutor Calo states that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would like to thank the Fairview Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
