Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo announced the arrest of LOUIS PUSKAS (DOB: 06/30/1981; divorced; I.T. technician) of Englewood, New Jersey on a charge of Child Abuse. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Englewood Police Department under the direction of Chief Lawrence Suffern.
On Sunday, April 8, 2018, the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (“DCPP”) was alerted that a child had been observed with a significant bruise on the forehead above the eye. DCPP responded to the child’s residence and alerted law enforcement.
As a result of an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Englewood Police Department, Louis PUSKAS was arrested on Saturday, April 28, 2018 and charged with one count of a New Jersey Title 9 Violation of Child Abuse, a crime of the 4th degree. PUSKAS is scheduled for a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, New Jersey on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 9:30 AM.
Acting Prosecutor Calo states that this charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would like to thank the Englewood Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
