Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo announced the arrest of JOHN CLAYBORNE (DOB: 6/22/1985; single; and employed as a scheduling coordinator) of 79 Prospect Street, East Orange, NJ on a charge of Theft. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Confidential Investigation Unit under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti.
The investigation of John CLAYBORNE began when the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office received an anonymous letter alleging that CLAYBORNE, who at the time was employed as Carlstadt’s Municipal Court Administrator, had misappropriated funds associated with that court. The investigation revealed that from November 2015 through March 2016, John CLAYBORNE had misappropriated at least $3,125 of funds associated with the Carlstadt Municipal Court.

CLAYBORNE is scheduled for a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 8:30 a.m.
Acting Prosecutor Calo states that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
